Got My Gorillapod
The Gorillapod SLR-Zoom makes a great little travel tripod which is far more versatile than any other small tripod that I have ever seen or used. But don't let the small size fool you, it is more than capable of supporting my Olympus E-300 or E-510 and my largest lens the 70-300mm.

Gorillapod SLR-Zoom, Manfrotto Ball Head & Olympus E-300 with 70-300mm
I Have been looking for a long time for a suitable small and versatile travel tripod. I recently got a Gorillapod SLR-Zoom. There have been lots of occasions over the past couple of years that I could have used it.
I have been putting it through it's paces over the past few weeks and it never ceases to amaze me. It can be attached to just about anything. The legs can be bent and twisted this way and that and with the rubber grips along them they will hold on and keep your camera nice and steady. Though, I would recommend using in conjunction with a cable release.
I have found that I also like to use with a good quality ball head. As you can see in the picture above you can easily attach a ball head to the tripod. Alternatively, you can attach your camera directly.
The only complaint that I have is that there is a small adapter required to attach a tripod head which could be very easily lost (not sure if you can get replacements). It would be great if like my monopod, there was a spring loaded screw terminal on the top that you can push down if you wish to connect your camera directly (no pieces to loose) or just screw you head straight on. Essentially why not have both the 1/4" and 3/8" both built in without an adjunct adapter?
Apart from that little gripe a great addition to my toolbox.
